a presentation on the ethical obligations
of practice under the new rules of conduct
for Claimant’s Representatives.
- At NOSSCR’s request, prepared
an article published in the NOSSCR Social Security Forum, Volume
20, Number 12, December 1998, entitled “Do
You Really Want To Be A (Documentary) Movie
Star?”, in reference to SSA’s handling of children’s
SSI claims as reflected in one child’s detailed case.
- Social
Security Law Update - The University Of Mississippi Center for
Continuing Legal Education - March 24, 2000 - delivered
a presentation on the appeals process to the Appeals Council
and Federal Court.
- Social Security Disability Law Conference,
May 3 - 6, 2000, Orlando, Florida, NOSSCR, Spoke upon “Raise
It Or Waive It”: The Future Of Issue
Exhaustion, especially in view of counsel’s
client’s case, SIMS V. APFEL, heard
before the U.S. Supreme Court on March 28,
2000, which was subsequently decided for Sims (June
5, 2000) and canceled the court requirements of raising
all issues before the Appeals Council or they are waived or precluded
before the Federal Courts.
